After decades of moving between temporary locations, MCC Detroit in MI, USA has officially found a permanent home on Pinecrest Drive in Ferndale. The move marks a historic milestone for the church as it celebrates 54 years of serving Metro Detroit’s LGBTQ+ community.

Like Metropolitan Community Churches worldwide, MCC Detroit is built on radical inclusivity. “They’re going to welcome anyone who wants to seek their faith, be closer to God, or whoever they consider to be a higher power—and they won’t be judged,” Ferndale Mayor Raylon Leaks-May told Local 4 News. “I’m just really pleased that they are here.”
With regular services and community programming now underway at the Pinecrest Drive sanctuary, MCC Detroit’s new chapter offers a lasting sanctuary for faith, fellowship, and worship. As the congregation looks to the future, its leaders remain committed to providing a safe, affirming space where Metro Detroit’s LGBTQ+ community can flourish for generations to come.
