In the wake of a series of distressing events affecting our neighbors, the MCC Quad Cities in Minneapolis, MN, USA recently served as a gathering point for a powerful community protest. Members of the Davenport and Quad Cities community came together to voice their opposition to recent ICE actions in Minneapolis, following two separate shootings involving federal agents that have left our community shaken and seeking answers.
In an interview by WQAD News 8, Rev. Elder Rich Hendricks says:
“If we don’t protest, there’s not going to be a democracy. If if the government has the ability to just snatch anybody off the streets– and they are, they’re snatching US citizens off the streets… If this goes unchecked, how are we going to have free and fair elections?”
The event was organized by One Human Family who says their mission is to welcome and protect the life, dignity, and human rights of all people in all places in the greater Quad Cities community.
