One of the Core Values of MCC is Justice. We as a movement have a long-history that includes not only the speaking of truth to power but acting in ways that seek to create a kindom where the value of every individual is honored and welcomed.

Recently, within the USA and other parts of the world,  there has been a steady increase of violence, some of it being lethal. Most of the violence has been directed toward marginalized people with a particular focus on those whose immigration status may be questioned. Some of the violence has been government sanctioned, even perpetrated, by Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) agents. 

The Interfaith Immigration Coalition recently shared some practical ways the people of faith can put justice into action and stop the violence targeting our immigrant siblings. They have developed this  Action Toolkit  which contains a variety of resources that might be used or adapted.

These resources could be used by individuals, congregations, or Networks within MCC to:

• Host a vigil to honor the lives of those lost. 
• Send a message to legislative leaders to state your opposition to government sponsored violence and ask that it be de-funded.  
• Spread the message of anti-violence on social media; and more!
