The European Forum has published the comprehensive Rainbow Index of Churches in Europe (RICE) Report, which provides a transparent and necessary assessment of how various Christian denominations across the continent measure up on the crucial metric of LGBTI inclusivity. The RICE Report acts as a powerful tool for accountability, tracking the progress—or lack thereof—within Protestant, Catholic, Orthodox, and other faith traditions.

For more than 50 years, the Metropolitan Community Church has been rooted in the radical belief that God’s love is inclusive of all people. The RICE Report, based on data collected between 2020 and 2025, offers a powerful validation of our foundational commitment.

In the inaugural index, MCC congregations scored exceptionally high, demonstrating what intentional, radical welcome looks like in practice. For instance, the Metropolitan Community Church in Vienna received a remarkable 100% inclusivity score, and the Metropolitan Community Church in Finland scored 95%. These results are a testament to the faithful, affirming ministry being done every day by our pastors, leaders, and congregants throughout Europe.

Our high scores are not simply a win for MCC, but a beacon of hope, showing that churches can—and must—be fully inclusive of their LGBTI members, clergy, and leadership.
