MCC Detroit in MI, USA, along with various community partners, formed an affordable housing complex where LGBTQ+ seniors could live without hiding who they are. It is called the Raymond E. Shepherd House, which is a four-story apartment building located in Ferndale, Detroit, MI, USA. It welcomed its first residents last December 2024 in its 53-unit complex.

The complex now host a new MCC Spiritual Community, which is named Shepherd House MCC Spiritual Community, led by Pastor Keith Bradford of MCC Detroit. On Wednesdays, the community members would gather for a meal and meet as a group to talk about spiritual and sacred topics. It is said that no matter how the conversation starts, they would always end up talking about God.

The housing complex has set up a pantry that provides for the supplies needed by its residents.
